Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

Today, I did two samples from the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge. They are using the Always Thankful Stamp set from the 2012 Holiday Mini Catalog. So you get two samples and a sneak peak. The colors are Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede. I used water color paper and water colored both images. Enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Friday! SFF081211 & CS43C

Well I've been gone a while, summer was busy, but we are back in school and I'm back to crafting away. Today I decided to do a project using two challenges. The first one was using this sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday and the Color Combination came from Creative Sketches Color Challenge. You can click on the titles to visit their sites. Ugliest Card Ever

I can't believe I'm posting this to my blog. I made this card tonight for someone at my church who is in the hospital. I'm sure she will think it's just lovely, the jury is still out with me. This is using some sneak peek products form the summer mini, as well as paper from the Four Frames promotion going on right now with Stampin' Up. I colored the stamped image with Stampin' Write Markers and then spritzed the image with water. It gives it a softer watercolor image on a solid stamp. Thanks for looking.

Easter Cadbury Egg Box & Card

Challenge 100 Celebrate!

Well this challenge was #100 over on our Late Night Stampers group. I got the idea of course from Angie Juda here. My son has a birthday party to go today for a girl, ack! And of course I don't have any girly stamps, so this was the next best thing. I used a saleabration stamp set from last year. Paper is from saleabration as well. My best guess was that it was cajun craze so that is the ink I used to sponge everything. Hope you enjoy.

Covered Tissue Box

Ok, I have found my newest obession. Decorating Tissue Boxes, I can't wait to go to Walmart later and get some more tissues. I saw this tutorial on Split Coast Stampers, here. This ladies tutorial is fabulous. If you are using a Kleenex brand Tissue Box this will work perfectly. I used Friends 24/7 stamp set. I used Wild Wasabi as the layer, I colored the stamp with markers. The bird is done in basic grey, soft suede, wild wasabi, real red and more mustard. The flowers I also colored the stamp using, soft suede, wild wasabi, real red and I colored the flowers in with blush bride. Here are pictures of the two sides, the other sides match these. Another Teacher Gift on the Fly

I bought these tins from Stampin' Ups clearance rack a while back. They measure 5 1/2 x 4 3/4. I pondered what to do with them. So, I had made snowman soup with mugs for my sons' teacher's but I decided that wasn't really enough. So, today I put together 5 of these tins with gift tags. The inside of tin I made using cardstock. The middle insert measures 4 3/4 x 4 1/2, scored at 1 1/2, 2 1/4, and 3 inches. The two side ones measure 6 1/4 x 2 1/2, scored at 2 3/8, 3 1/8, and 2 3/8. Good thing my son just learned how to add and subtract fractions, so it was fresh in my mind when I had to use his math to help me. I was never good with fractions, especially the 8th ones. After scoring, fold mountain and valley. Place the large one in the middle, and the smaller ones on each side of the middle one. The dsp was cut at 2 1/2 x 2 3/8. I made the tags using the tags til' christmas stamp set. I don't have the ornament punch so, I had to use the movers and shakers die ornament to cut the tags, I stamped the image and spaced it over the die. The punch would have been much easier :) I just made the outside look like a present. I didnt' have a lot time to get really creative.

Snowman Soup

I made these for my son's teachers. Can't beat the price at $2.50 each. I hope they enjoy them, our weather is definately cold enough.

Oh my, products used. Bashful blue cardstock, some DCWV pattern paper, some cheap $1.00 stamps, SU label punch, and baja breeze stripped retired ribbon. The pillow box and bags were from a bulk buy my upline Monika Davis did, I'm not sure what company she got them from.

I also did a male version for his math teacher, it's still using the same blues but the outside is old olive and I used the holly jolly DSP. Hope you enjoy.

Several people have asked about the poem.... I tried to photograph it but it came out blury, so here it is:

One day I met a snowman

He said "Frosty" was his name.

Who told me his secret recipe,

For "Snowman Soup" he claimed.

So open up the soup packet

Just pour it in your cup,

Add hot water to the mix

Take the cane and stir it up.

Add some Snowman Kisses

A few snowballs for fun

It's sure to warm your spirits

When your winter day is done.

I got this off the internet, but I searched so many before I found one just right, so i'm not sure who to give credit to. The "Snowman Kisses" are hershey kisses. The "Freeze dried snowballs" are mini marshmellows. The "Stir Stick" is a candy cane. The "Snowman Soup" is just any kind of packet hot chocolate. I used giradelli.

Challenge Card, White, Blue and Silver

I'm usually a red and green kind of girl for Christmas. I don't usually step outside the box this week on our Late Night Stampers email group Mary Jo challenged us to use blue, white and silver. I actually like how this card came out. I used brushed siver SU cardstock as the base, night of navy cardstock and whisper white craft ink with white embossing powder. The silver cord is from last years mini catalog (I sure hope they bring it back next year, I'm almost out and I love for my Christmas tags. Last week Mary Jo challenged us to use, anything but red and green. Below is my card for that challenge. So whichever of my friends get these two cards, I'm sure they are going to think I've lost my mind. I hope you enjoy.

For this card I used a light pink, not sure of the name, lovely lilac and bashful blue. I used heat and stick and dazzling diamonds on the snowflake. Not sure I like this one.
