I think I finally got my comments to work. It's not how I really want it, but at least people can comment now. I'm not sure why the embed comment won't work.

Glad you have comments now! Sometimes the embedded comments don't work with a specific layout! You can try changing your settings to Embedded comments, then got to Layout, edit html and under the html box there is a "revert widget templates to default." Once you click that & click okay to the pop up box - your comments may work. That's how I had to fix mine! You will have to fix/readd all your widgets! :)
